Özet

Masonry structures constitute an important part of building stock in Turkey. An important part of the buildings that were built until the half of the 20th century were built as masonry. We can qualify those buildings that built before the 20th century as historical buildings. In this study, the seismic assessment of the historical Santa Maria Church located in Trabzon province was carried out. In the study, the finite element model of the structure was created in ANSYS package program. Modal analysis was carried out to obtain the dynamic characteristics such as mode shapes and frequencies of the structure. In order to obtain seismic behavior, acceleration records of the 1992 Erzincan earthquake were used and the structure was exposed to seismic effects in three directions. As a result of the analysis, obtained displacement and stress values are presented with contour diagrams. The obtained results were evaluated according to The Guideline For Earthquake Risk Management of Historical Structures, published in 2017.
