Özet

In recent years, due to the rapid increase in population density, building density and energy consumption, the outdoor air quality has deteriorated in the crowded urban areas of Turkey. Trabzon, situated in the northeast of Turkey, is also influenced by air pollutants, i.e. the SO2 and suspended particle concentrations. It is well known that, in general, the air pollution concentrations have a close relationship with meteorological factors. In this study, the relationship between monitored outdoor air quality data and meteorological factors, such as wind speed, relative humidity ratio and temperature, is statistically analyzed, using the code SPSS. According to the results obtained through multiple linear regression analysis, for some months there is a moderate and weak level of relation between the SO, level and the meteorological factors in Trabzon city.
