Abstract

The specific energy (SE) is one of the most important performance indicators in sawing processes with circular diamond sawblades. An experimental study was performed to investigate effects of physico-mechanical properties on the SE. The relationships between physico-mechanical properties and SE were investigated. Results indicated that, among the physico-mechanical properties, density, ultrasonic velocity, Schmidt hammer hardness and microhardness were determined the dominant rock properties affecting SE.
