Digital Cultural Heritage Technologies Research Group
Welcome to the page of the Digital Cultural Heritage Technologies Research Group (DCHTECH).
DCHTECH is an interdisciplinary research group established to document, analyze, archive, and make cultural heritage elements accessible through digital methods. The group aims to transform data related to historical buildings, tombstones, inscriptions, epigraphic data, cultural landscape elements, and urban memory into a sustainable, queryable, and mappable research infrastructure in the digital environment. Our research group brings together geographic information systems, artificial intelligence, natural language querying, data modeling, digital inventory, map-based interfaces, and visualization technologies with cultural heritage studies. In this regard, DCHTECH aims to develop innovative digital solutions for the protection and promotion of cultural heritage, its transformation into usable datasets for scientific research, and its transfer to future generations. The work of our group is carried out with the joint contribution of different disciplines such as engineering, architecture, urban and regional planning, art history, archaeology, epigraphy, computer science, and geographic information systems. On the DCHTECH page, you can find information about our research areas, projects, publications, and the digital cultural heritage studies we conduct.
