Blasting of Rock Masses and Environmental Effects Research Group (BRM&EE-RG)

The development of technology, increase of population, increase of raw material needs, logistics demands and transportation problems lead to an increase in  excavation works in hard rock environments by blasting.

Blasting activities are especially carried out  in mine production activities andi in construction sector for tunnel, road and foundation excavations  in hard rock masses.

Excavation by blasting are generally needed when hard rock masses cannot be excavated mechanically. When such activities are close to residential areas, environmental problems (noise, vibration, damage to structures, etc.) can be encountered.

Our research group has been conducting studies on blasting and its environmental effects for more than 20 years. Our team has provided services to many domestic and foreign enterprises in our country and region on blasting designs, and measurement and evaluation of environmental effects for the excavation of hard rock environments.
