Özet

Big data is a relatively new and lively field of research and practice. Researchers entering a new field are interested in the themes, trends and gaps that characterise it, and understanding these is only possible through a detailed analysis of the domain-specific literature. Because scientific literature grows exponentially, such trends are not easy to identify manually. In this study, probabilistic topic modeling, an effective approach for the semantic analysis of large-scale textual collections, was used to conduct a semantic content analysis of the big data literature from 2009 to 2018 in order to discover its research trends and themes.
