Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the quality of life and hopelessness among parents of children with disabilities. This descriptive study was conducted among 172 parents attending special education and rehabilitation centers between March 2022 and May 2024. Data were collected using the WHO Quality of Life Scale Short Form-Turkish Version, the Beck Hopelessness Scale, and the Parent and Child Information Form. A significant, moderate negative correlation was observed between parents' hopelessness scores and the environmental domain of quality of life, while weak negative correlations were found with the physical and social domains. Implications for family therapy practice are discussed.
