Özet

Emerging market business groups (EMBGs) represent an interesting research context to analyse the topic of “knowledge transfer” because of their potential of collaboration, interaction and subsequent accumulation advantages. The current paper focuses specifically of reverse knowledge transfer (RKT) dynamics in cross-border acquisitions undertaken by EMBGs originating from Turkey.  A key argument postulated in the current paper relates to the fact that an acquisition undertaken EMBGs affiliate can potentially have an influence on sister affiliates’ knowledge set and performance. We further highlight the importance of Turkish business groups’ origin (western/metropolitan vs. peripheral/Anatolian) in relation to RKT and its potential influences on the performance of other affiliates. The empirical part of the paper is currently in process.
