Söz Dizimi Açısından ChatGPT’nin Türkçesine Bir Bakış

Abstract

In November 2022, ChatGPT-3 was released, and on March 14, 2023, the fourth version of the series, ChatGPT-4, was released by its developer, OpenAI. Artificial intelligence systems like ChatGPT, which are endowed with linguistic intelligence, rely on a Turkish database when writing in Turkish. They reproduce the Turkish texts with the possibilities of flexible syntax. In this study, the texts dictated to both chatbots at different times were compared with respect to vocabulary and syntax. While ChatGPT-3 utilizes the language like a native speaker, its spelling and punctuation can be somewhat imperfect, especially with repetitive expressions. The fact that the texts it generates on the same topic at 7–8-month intervals are more accurate suggests that it can learn. Compared to GPT-3, ChatGPT-4, which was developed through the training process, rarely makes spelling and punctuation mistakes according to the analyzed examples, and it includes a rich vocabulary appropriate to the context, along with a flexible syntax and artistic expressions. They can produce examples of two-, three- and four-element syntax within a limited textual space and can construct almost all types of sentences, including simple, sequential, compound, and complex sentences.

Kasım 2022’de ChatGPT-3 ve 14 Mart 2023 tarihinde serinin dördüncü versiyonu CahtGPT-4, geliştiricisi Open-AI tarafından yayınlanmıştır. Dil zekâsı kazandırılan yapay zekâ, ChatGPT ve benzerleri, Türkçe yazarken Türkçe veri tabanından hareket etmekte; Türkçe metinleri kıvrak söz diziminin olanaklarıyla yeniden üretmektedir. Bu çalışmada farklı zamanlarda her iki sohbet robotuna yazdırılan metinler, söz varlığı ve söz dizimi açısından karşılaştırılmıştır. ChatGPT-3, dil içine doğan bir anadili konuşucusu gibi dilin olanaklarını kullanırken yazım ve noktalama, tekrar ifadelerle kısmen kusurludur. 7-8 ay ara ile aynı konuda tekrar yazdığı metinlerin daha doğru olması, öğrenebilir olduğunu göstermektedir. Eğitim süreci ile geliştirilen ChatGPT-4 ise GPT-3’e nispetle incelenen örneklere göre nadiren yazım ve noktalama hatası yapmakta, bağlama uygun zengin bir söz varlığı, kıvrak bir söz dizimi ve sanatlı söyleyişlere yer vermektedir. Söz diziminin iki, üç ve dört ögeli diziliş örneklerini ön görülen sınırlı metin içinde üretmekte; basit, sıralı, bağlı ve birleşik cümleler olmak üzere hemen tüm cümle türlerini kurabilmektedir.
