Copper(II) phthalocyanine containing four 17-membered dioxa-triaza macrocycles has been synthesized starting from copper(II) phthalocyanine substituted 1,2-bis(ethoxycarbonylmetoxy) and 3,3'-diaminodipropylamine. This copper(II) phthalocyanine was used in the extraction of alkali metals and alkaline earth metal picrates from aqueous media. The structures of the compounds are proposed according to elemental analysis, H-1,C-13 NMR, IR, UV-VIS and MS spectral data. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
