İnsan yaşamının temelini oluşturan okul öncesi eğitimin, hedeflenen düzeye ulaşması için eğitim ortamlarının niteliğinin arttırılması gerekmektedir. Okul öncesi eğitim kurumları açık hava oyun alanları, çocukların gelişimleri açısından oldukça önemli alanlardır. Çocukların hem fiziksel hem de zihinsel açıdan gelişimlerinin desteklenmesi için, açık hava oyun alanlarının çok iyi planlanması, gerekli materyallerle donanımının sağlanması gerekmektedir. Bu husustan yola çıkılarak okul öncesi eğitim kurumları açık hava oyun alanlarının mevcut durumunun saptanması ve saptanan yetersizliklerle ilgili önlemlerin alınması önem kazanmaktadır. Bu araştırma; okul öncesi eğitim kurumları açık hava oyun alanlarının incelenmesi amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma bir durum saptamasıdır. Araştırmanın evrenini Ankara ilinde bulunan, özel ve resmi okul öncesi eğitim kurumları oluşturmuştur. Örneklemi ise evrenden random yoluyla seçilen 24 özel ve resmi okul öncesi eğitim kurumu oluşturmuştur. Veriler araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilip uzman görüşü alınarak geçerliliği tespit edilmiş olan “Okul Öncesi Eğitim Kurumları Açık Hava Oyun Alanları Kontrol Listesi” nde yer alan kriterler doğrultusunda gözlem ve doküman incelemesi (fotoğraf) yöntemiyle toplanmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlar doğrultusunda okul öncesi eğitim kurumları açık hava oyun alanlarının niteliğinin arttırılması ve tespit edilen yetersizliklerle ilgili önlemlerin alınması konusunda bazı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
Pre-school period forms the basis of human life and education environments need to be enhanced in order to reach the targeted level. Open air playing grounds of the preschool education institutions are very important for the development of children. For the aim of supporting the physical and mental development of the children open air playing grounds shall be well planned and equipped with the needed materials. Depending on this, it is important to detect the current situation of open air playing grounds and taking the necessary precautions related to the found deficiencies. This research was performed in order to examine open air playing grounds. The research aims to detect the situation. The study was based on the state and private preschool education institutions in Ankara Province. And the sampling consisted of 24 state and private preschool education institutions selected at random all over the world. The data was collected by the researchers through observation and document examination (photograph) in the direction of criteria included in the “Checklist for the Open Air Playing Grounds of the Preschool Education Institutions” whose validity was already approved. In the direction of the results obtained from the researches, some suggestions have been made related to enhance the quality of the open air playing grounds of the preschool education institutions and taking the necessary precautions for the detected deficiencies.
