Abstract

This study identifies and prioritizes critical barriers to green hydrogen adoption in energy systems using interval-valued intuitionistic Fuzzy DEMATEL (IVIF-DEMATEL). Initially, barriers were identified from literature and expert consultations. Subsequently, an aggregated influence matrix was obtained based on the evaluations of five domain experts. The IVIF-DEMATEL analysis revealed that high production costs, regulatory uncertainty, and technological readiness are primary causal barriers significantly affecting infrastructure development and investment decisions. These findings assist policymakers and industry stakeholders by highlighting priority areas for effective intervention strategies and accelerated integration of green hydrogen into sustainable energy systems.
