Abstract

Redox polymerization of acrylonitrile(AN) using Mn(III) with poly(acrylamide) (PAAm) having terminal carboxyl groups, was carried out to yield block copoly mers of PAN and PAAm. The principal parameteters affecting the synthesis were examined. Maximum yield was obtained Mn(III) acetate concentration of 5.10(-2) mol/L and prepolymer(PAAm) concentration of 150 g/L and acrylonitrile concentration of 5.3 mol/L.
