Özet

As a result of successive settlement processes, cities change with each new period, bringing with them the components of the previous period along with their differences. This change naturally also contains the accumulation of the different components of each period. In order to protect cities and their components and ensure the continuity of this protection, the information contained within cities must be comprehensively and accurately read and understood. In this context, this study aims to examine the perceptibility of archaeological values in urban site areas within a Geographic Information System (GIS) environment. Raw data is converted into usable information by transferring it to GIS for analysis. The application was carried out in the ancient city of Side, which was selected as the sample study area. Data obtained from the field and various sources were transferred to the GIS environment and analyzed. Based on the analyses, purposeful inquiries and evaluations were made. The results regarding the inclusion of GIS in the conservation process were presented.
