Özet

To determine whether skin tag is important in the success of treatment in patients with chronic anal fissure who received conservative treatment with 0.4% glyceryl trinitrate ointment were evaluated. This prospective study was conducted at the Department of General Surgery, Suruc State Hospital, Sanliurfa, Turkiye, between May and December 2022. Demographic data, physical examination, pre-treatment, control inspections and treatment results visual analogue scale (VAS) scores of the patients were recorded. The patients were divided into two groups. Group 1 consisted of the patients who did not have skin tag while Group 2 had the patients who had skin tag. According to the statistical evaluations, the pre-treatment (p <0.001), control inspection (p <0.001) and post-treatment (p <0.001) VAS scores showed a significate difference (p <0.001) and they responded better to medical treatment. It can be predicted that the patients with chronic anal fissures with skin tag component treatment success may be lower than the patients without skin tag.
