Abstract

In this study, in order to improve the bonding efficiency of starch glue and water resistance of starch glue on paper

surface, mixing ratio of crosslinking additives dosage was changed and its effects were analysed. When the

additives dosage was increased, cross direction tensile strength, ring crush strength and water resistance were

increased, because of hydroxyl groups in starch glue and cellulose fibers of fluting paper were cross-linked by

additives. When crosslinking additives 1.5% and 3% dosage were added, peel test results confirmed the appropriate

amount of additives increased bonding efficiency of starch glues. Moreover, increasing in the gelation temperature

and viscosities of the starch glue were observed by adding cross linking additives.
