Özet

In this study, a poly(styrene-ran-ethyl 2-(hydroxymethyl)acrylate-g-ε-caprolactone) random-graft copolymer was synthesized in a single, simultaneous step using free-radical polymerization and ring-opening polymerization. Ethyl 2-(hydroxymethyl)acrylate and styrene vinyl monomers were copolymerized with the ε-caprolactone cyclic monomer in the presence of azobisisobutyronitrile to yield the target copolymer in a single step. The resulting random-graft copolymer was comprehensively characterized using 1H-NMR, FT-IR, DSC, TGA, FESEM, and GPC techniques. This integrated, single-step synthetic strategy offers significant advantages in time efficiency and energy savings by eliminating intermediate purification processes, providing a more sustainable and cost-effective route compared to conventional multi-step copolymerization methods.
