Abstract

Modeling human behaviors (thinking, communication, body languages etc) is very important to develop intelligent interfaces in human machine interaction. This paper suggests solutions for some of the problems of deaf people in education and communication by modeling sign language. We mostly focus on recognition of letters, which are the bases of a sign language. Artificial neural networks are employed to recognize the vowels of Turkish Sign Language.
