A complex system with lag is considered. The system halts for periodic inspection at random times. According to the results of the periodic inspection, with probability 1 - rho (0 less than or equal to rho less than or equal to 1) the system continues to function with residual life, or with probability rho, the system undergoes routine repair, at the conclusion of which it receives additional life of random magnitude xi(1) > 0 and continues to function. For such a system, the Laplace transformation of the distribution of the system operating time to marginal failure is found, and expressions for the system's mathematical expectation and dispersion are obtained in explicit form.
