Abstract

Background: Although current guidelines suggest the use of inhaled corticosteroids as the first line therapy in persistent asthma, the concerns about high-dose corticosteroids may limit their usage. We aimed to investigate the efficacy of inhaled budesonide plus oral montelukast versus a double dose of inhaled budesonide.
