Macroazoinimers are macromonomer azoinitiators and have been prepared by the reaction of polyazoesters having polyethylene glycol units and a functionalized vinyl monomer. Macroazoinimers behave as a macroinimer, a macrocrosslinker and an initiator, so they can be homopolymerize as well as copolymerize with another vinyl monomer. In each case, polymerization reactions give cross-linked polymers. Polymerization conditions and properties of polymers obtained by using macroazoinimers have been studied.
