Abstract

It's of great importance for sustainability to observe environmental elements in areas such as energy and water consumption, disposal of waste, and management of hazardous substances in health institutions. In the study, the compliance of seven hospitals in Trabzon with green hospital standards was evaluated. The level of compliance with standards was calculated by the percentage of yes answers to 40 questions on the evaluation form. It was determined that the compliance level of hospitals in Trabzon to standards was 70.9%. When the conformity to the criteria was examined in terms of dimensions, the most complied dimension was environmental management (90.7%) and the least complied size was material management (38.1%). It's thought that the improvements that can be provided in the relevant dimensions will contribute to a sustainable environment.
