In this study, computer-aided control of a gun has
been realized for use in military area. For this purpose, a
prototype was prepared for such system and the required
software for the system was developed. All of this software was
written with C# and communication between the computer and
the system was provided with parallel port. A robot arm was
created for mechanical movement of the gun and the gun was
mounted on this robot arm. On the other hand, a user interface
was designed to control the system and target image was
transferred to the user interface. So, the control of the system
was provided with control signals created using the buttons on
the user interface or the keyboard of the computer with
evaluation of target image. In this way, it was achieved that a
user can interfere in the system at any moment. However,
software that can detect moving objects for the user has been
developed. Thus, it can detect moving objects better and be
more careful. The system consists of a gun mounted on the robot
arm, a camera mounted on the gun to inform the user, two
stepper motors for the movement of the gun in the x and y
coordinates and a linear motor mounted on the trigger of the
gun to fire the gun at a desired time.
