Abstract

Sir: For intractable hiccups, defined as hiccups persisting longer than 48 h, pharmacological suppression of reflexes has been achieved by a wide variety of agents [1, 2]. Treatment with these drugs is largely unsatisfactory and side effects are common. The efficacy of baclofen for treatment of intractable hiccups has been proven in some studies [3, 4].
