Özet

One of the most important elements of open spaces is water - a unique element for landscape design. Places with water are preferred by both designers and users. Water is a very important element because of both its functional contribution it provides to landscape and its social value for users. Designing water areas is also a challenging process. For this reason, this study aims to guide present designers in many studies ranging from garden scale to urban open space scale by classifying the use, purpose and types of water in the historical process.
