Özet

One of the most important advantages of the steel plate shear wall is to create openings with different sizes and arbitrary locations on the infill plate depending on their application. In this study, the effects of the semi-supported steel shear walls (SSSWs) with square and rectangular openings on the seismic behavior of the structural systems are investigated. The ultimate strength, stiffness and energy absorption of the SSSWs are evaluated under non-linear static analysis and cyclic loading for different opening ratios and the results are compared. The results showed that the openings in the walls have a substantial effect on the seismic behavior of the system for different opening ratios and must be considered in the design stage of the buildings.
