Özet

Purpose: The parameters that are important in deciding the area where the construction sites will be established in

highway constructions are determined.

Study design/methodology/approach: The parameters are obtained as a result of archive research and interviews with

technical staff who are interested in site layout planning.

Findings: The construction and implementation phases of highway construction sites are quite different from other

construction sites. After the facilities are established in unsuitable or inadequately sized areas, they may need to be

transferred to another location or additional construction sites may be needed under the name of support sites.

Management need to pay attention to the parameters that are effective in site layout planning during the pre-planning

phase against the high costs that may arise. In this study, these parameters are evaluated according to many factors. If

these conditions are provided, an effective site layout will be achieved.

Originality/value: This study can be used as a guide by technical personnel interested in site layout planning in different

construction sites, especially highway construction sites.
