Özet

Urbanization is increasing rapidly in the world. Due to current urbanization trends, wildlife conservation in urban habitats is becoming more and more important. Trabzon province shows a rapid urbanization in the historical process. The green cover that covered the city and the coast in the past and the small bays in the coastal area have started to decrease in recent years. These areas have begun to be replaced by increasing structures, roads and coastal filling. Old and current satellite images show that potential urbanization is concentrated in coastal areas, on lands that are easily accessible for settlement. This rapid change still continues today and it is thought that it will continue rapidly in the future. Rapid structuring in the study area especially affects wildlife species. Wildlife affected by urbanization was observed all year round, from January 2020 to June 2022, using direct and indirect observation methods. Problems that negatively affect wild animals in the study area have been identified as rapid and dramatic landscape-level changes, unplanned settlements, habitat fragmentation, reduction of forests and wooded areas, coastal filling, airport, increased densities of roads, wildlife-vehicle collisions, high voltage lines, noise and light pollution, domestic waste and river rehabilitation. These urban disturbances cause death, injury, wildlife-human interactions and affect the behavior of wild animals. In order to minimize the effects of urban on wild animals, it is necessary to establish an order that will provide water, shelter and food to wild animals that are desired to be sheltered in urban environments. It is necessary to protect and keep alive the vegetation and similar structures that create a habitat for wild animals. In order to protect and include wildlife in urban areas, wildlife should be planned in the environmental plan, master plan and implementary development plan that shape the natural environment of the urban areas.
