Modern geodesy can monitor the geodynamic motion of the Earth because of tectonic activities and modifications in the environment because of sea level variation and atmospheric changes. The Tohoku-Oki earthquake (Mw 9.1) occurred on March 11, 2011 in Japan and was the strongest devastating earthquake in the modern world history. This article discussed the 2011 Tohoku-Oki Japan earthquake signature captured by geodetic data on the Earth surface, the Pacific Ocean as well as in space.
