Özet
Sustainable urban waste management requires systematic prioritization of key criteria to support efficient decision-making and long-term environmental resilience. This evaluation is important for guiding cities toward efficient, resilient, and environmentally sustainable waste management decisions. This study systematically prioritizes the most critical criteria for sustainable urban waste management using the Best Worst Method (BWM), a recent and efficient decision-making approach. After a thorough review of the existing literature and discussions with experts in the field, nine essential evaluation criteria were pinpointed. An expert panel composed of both academics and practitioners assessed these criteria. The panel selected the most and least important factors. It also provided structured pairwise comparisons. The results show that environmental, public health, and safety are the most critical criteria in urban waste management.
