Widespread use of information and communication tools has brought significant changes to the field of education as well as all fields. In recent times, learning activities have gone beyond the conventional classroom environments and started to be conducted online frequently. In this respect, computer communication tools known as computer-mediated communication (CMC) tools are broadly used in educational fields of modern societies. In This study, the use of Asynchronous Discussion Forums (ADF) among CMC tools as a tool for learning computer and learning activities occuring in these mediums were examined using document analysis. To this end, all ADFs relating to computers in Turkey were scanned and subjected to content analysis. All the matters discussed in these ADFs were categorized by means of content analysis. In addition, both qualitative and quantitative data were obtained from the individuals using these forum environments via survey (n = 602). Data obtained from these participants were analyzed. Via data analyses, forum usage profiles of individuals using these environments were tried to be revealed. According to the findings of the study, ADFs are frequently used for learning topics relating computers. According to the results of the study, discussions and questions-answers in these environments lead to important learning outputs in terms of individuals' constructing their own knowledge and using it.
