Abstract

The synthesis, characterization of newly synthesized metal-free 2 and metallophthalocyanine complexes 3-5 (MPcs, M = Ni, Co, Cu) and quaternized metallophthalocyanine derivatives 3a, 5a (MPcs, M = Ni, Cu) containing 4,5-bis(quinolin-6-yloxy) substituents have been presented in this work. The new compounds have been characterized by using elemental analysis, UV-vis, IR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR and MS spectroscopic data. Also, aggregation properties of Pcs were investigated at different concentrations in chloroform, dimethylformamide and water. The effect of the concentration on the aggregation properties of complexes 2-5 was studied in chloroform. No aggregation was demonstrated in chloroform from concentration between 1 x 10(-5) and 0.4 x 10(-5) M. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
