Forest management plans have been prepared with simple formulas and traditional planning techniques in Turkey. However, there is a need to use quantitative modelling techniques because of a number of reasons. Public demands to forest ecosystems have changed and increased, sustainable forest management philosophy has become a current issue in the world, forest management policies and activities have to be considered at international level, and science and technology develop over time. In this context, forest management models including informatics and contemporary planning techniques provide a variety of opportunities for decision makers in preparing forest management plans. This paper presents the first version of ETCAPSimulasyon model developed with the ecosystem-based multiple use forest management panning approach. Later, a case study of ETCAPSimulasyon is conducted in a forest planning unit. This forest simulation model has a great potential in the implementation of contemporary forest management planning process, scientific studies and forestry education.
