Abstract

In this paper, optimal computation of PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) parameters is carried

out for a DC-DC Buck Converter by using GWO (Grey Wolf Optimizer) Algorithm. Moreover, the

results obtained using GWO are compared with HHOA (Harris Hawks Optimization Algorithm), WOA (Whale Optimization Algorithm) and GA (Genetic Algorithm). In addition, the study selects the ITSE

(Integral of Time multiplied Squared Error) as the performance measure for PID controllers, which is

widely used in literature. The comparison of the results indicates that the GWO algorithm outperforms

HHOA, WOA, and GA in terms of transient responses such as settling time, rise time, and overshoot,

leading to superior PID parameters.
