Abstract

Symmetrically tetrasubstituted metal-free phthalocyanine 6 with four 14-membered dioxadithia macrocycles each of which is attached to a 15-membered crown ether has been prepared in a multi-step reaction sequence. The new compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, H-1 and C-13 NMR, UV vis and MS spectral data. (C) 2003 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
