Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the perceptions of the translation students in a tertiary level EFL setting towards the use of computerized corpus as a translation research tool. For this purpose, a mixed method research methodology was used in the study and the data were obtained through questionnaires and semi–structured interviews. Forty five tertiary level EFL students at a Turkish university participated in the study. The results suggest that most translation students favored using computerized corpus as yet another research tool in the translation process. However, the potential of corpus to offer wide range of information at one time may be difficult to grasp as reported by few samples.
