Abstract

In this study, an application based on a client-server communication has been developed for efficiently segmentation of medical images. At the first step in the application, some selected medical images are uploaded from a server computer to the picture gallery of a smartphone. As a second step, a medical image to be segmented is selected from the picture gallery and then it is sent to the server computer by enclosed with some input parameters via the http protocol. At the last step, in the server computer a result is fast obtained by the Split-Bregman iterative method based on the Chan-Vese approach and then the segmented image is automatically sent to the smartphone. The performance of the method has been tested based on segmentation of different medical images.
