Abstract

In the present research, granular metallic iron was used to reduce the chlorine species into chloride in chlorine solutions. Optimum conditions were investigated with regard to pH, particle size, and contact period. It was determined that the species of OCl- and HOCl were removed by 100% between pH 4 and 7 within 25 min.
