Abstract
A novel (E,E)-dioxime {S,S'-bis[2-(N-benzo-15-crown-5)carbonyl]dithioglyoxime (5)} which contains crown ether groups has been synthesized from the reaction of 4'-aminobenzo (15-crown-5) and S,S'-bis(2-carbomethoxyphenyl) dithioglyoxime (3), which has been obtained from methyl thiosalicylate and (E,E)-dichloroglyoxime. The cobalt(III) complexes of (5) have been prepared with L' = pyridine and 4,4'-bipyridine, together with chlorine ions as axial ligands. In addition, the synthesis of a new cobalt complex which contains the bridging BF2+ was achieved with the bis(E, E)-dioxime. The ion extraction properties of BF2+ bridged cobalt(III) complexes towards lithium, sodium and potassium picrate from aqueous solution to dichloromethane have been measured. The structure of dioximes and their complexes are proposed according to elemental analysis, H-1 and C-13-NMR, IR, UV-vis and mass spectra.
