Abstract

A novel polyamidoxime containing a two-fold macrocyclic ionophore and having appropriate functions to bind transition metal ions such as nickel(II) and cobalt(III) was prepared. The polyamidoxime was obtained by the reaction of (E, E)-dichloroglyoxime with a new aromatic primary amine containing two-fold macrocyclic moieties. The polymer and its transition metal complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, IR, H-1, C-13-NMR and mass spectral data.
