Abstract

In this study, turbulent flow field around a semi-ellipsoid obstacle immersed into boundary layer has been investigated experimentally and numerically. Flow visualization studies and surface pressure measurements have been made, simulating atmospheric boundary layer with 150 mm height in wind tunnel. 2D predictions of turbulent flow around obstacle were obtained using the Realizable k-epsilon and Standard k-omega turbulence models and compared with the experimental results.
