Özet

Bu çalışmada Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi’nde öğrenim gören müzik
öğretmeni adaylarının problem çözme becerileri incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Etkili

In this study, candidate music teachers’ -studying in Karadeniz
Technical University- problem-solving skills were tried to be examined. It is
known that individuals who have effective problem-solving skills are more
successful and can overcome the problems they face more quickly than
individuals who have not. As in any field, in the field of education there are
many problems encountered and need to be resolved. Candidate teachers are
expected to have effective problem-solving skills due to the profession that they
will do. In this direction, the purpose of the study is to examine problemsolving skills of candidate music teachers -involved in the study group- in
terms of class, gender, and high school variables. Data of this study collected by
the “Problem Solving Inventory” which was developed in 1982 by Heppner and
Peterson and which was adapted to Turkish by Şahin, Şahin and Heppner. Data
which obtained with the help of inventory were analyzed with SPSS (Statistical
Package for the Social Sciences) and significance level has been accepted as
p<.05 for the statistical processes. According to the collected data it has been
seen that the problem solving skills of the candidate music teachers –involved
in the study group- are above the average; the junior-class students have the
partly highest problem solving skills than the other students; the freshman, the
sophomore and the senior class students follow this range. At the end of the
study it has been determined that there is no meaningful difference between
problem solving skills of candidate music teachers and class, high-school and
gender variables
