Özet

T & uuml;rkiye was one of the migration routes of the White Russians who left their country after the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution. T & uuml;rkiye, which hosted immigrants during the armistice years, has undergone many transformations in social and cultural areas together with them. Based on the newspaper pages, which have contributed to the educational processes of countries for centuries, this study touches upon the socio-cultural effects of White Russians on Istanbul life, Turkish people, and society. Through the examples selected from the stories serialized in newspapers between 1920 and 1940, such as Cumhuriyet, Milliyet, Vakit, Ak & scedil;am, Vatan, Hakimiyeti Milliye, A & ccedil;& imath;k S & ouml;z, & Idot;zmir Ticaret Postas & imath;, Bug & uuml;n etc., this research aimed to generally examine the White Russians in & Idot;stanbul, their impact on the city's social life and on people's cultural codes in & Idot;stanbul. The study also aims to reveal how Turkish writers perceive the Russian immigrant type through the selected newspaper feuilletons. The primary data sources of the study designed for this purpose were the newspapers that serialized the White Russians in Istanbul. The scientific innovation of the current study, which employed the content analysis method, is to analyze the subject of the White Russians-which has been widely studied in T & uuml;rkiye-based on newspaper feuilletons for the first time from the perspective of Turkish writers. In addition, this research also offers readers and researchers the opportunity to think about the relationship between literature and newspapers.
