According to recent data from the World Health Organization, 619 million people are affected by low back pain, which is described as pain between the lower edge of the ribs and the buttocks. It is one of the most common complaints from the past to the present and can cause chronic disability unless it is correctly diagnosed and treated. It can have many different causes, which range from small muscle or ligamentous damages and discopathy to metastases or other systemic disorders such as hematologic, infectious, or renal diseases. It may be treated with over-the-counter pain relievers to advanced pain treatments such as narcotic analgesics, nerve blocks, or even surgeries. In this section, it is aimed to provide awareness of the importance of causes, prognostic factors, and approaches to low back pain which is a very treatable situation, but if left untreated it can seriously affect quality of life.
