Abstract

This paper presents an effective solution against DIS attacks in RPL-based 6TiSCH networks. 6TiSCH is a protocol designed to support reliable and synchronised communication in low power and resource limited networks. In this study, the impact of DIS packets on resource wastage by considering buffer occupancy and shared slots is analysed. The proposed method aims to prevent malicious activities of attackers by detecting attacks. Simulation studies have shown that the proposed solution can detect DIS attacks 52% more successfully and has 51.6% less buffer consumption compared to Verma et al.
