Özet

Due to natural or human causes, different types of disasters of different sizes are encountered in different geographies world geographies. It is impossible to prevent natural disasters in particular. However, minimizing the damaging effects of disasters can be possible with the right foresight. Disaster management is important in this sense within the scope of effective planning of disaster resistant spatial development process. Creating safer cities through planning studies conducted by considering the potential disaster risks of the geography inhabited has to be one of the important criteria of urban planning. In this context, it is essential to address the post-disaster gathering and sheltering areas of the city. In this study, the characteristics and effects of the variables that should be decisive in defining the most suitable assembly and shelter areas in case of disaster by evaluating the emergency assembly and shelter areas in case of disaster, and the criteria for the location selection of the most suitable assembly and shelter areas were examined and the study was evaluated with GIS using the AHP method.
