K-shell fluorescence yields were experimentally determined for potassium and calcium compounds using a Si(Li) X-ray detector system (FWHM= 5.96 keV at 160 eV). The samples were excited by 5.96 keV photons produced by a (55)Fe radioisotope source. The experimental values are systematically lower than the theoretical values.
