Özet
Elastic neutrino-electron scattering provides a highly sensitive channel to investigate beyond the Standard Model (SM) physics, particularly in the low-energy recoil regime. In this work, we explore the effects of a sub-GeV dark photon mediator on this scattering process within the framework of direct detection experiments. By incorporating a new U(1) gauge symmetry kinetically mixed with the SM photon, we analyze how this dark sector interaction alters the standard electroweak differential cross-section of neutrinos scattering off atomic electrons. Utilizing the low-energy electron recoil sensitivities of current direct detection experiments, we evaluate the resulting deviations from expected Standard Model rates. Ultimately, we derive and present constraints on the dark photon parameter space—specifically focusing on its mass and kinetic mixing parameter—demonstrating the unique and robust capability of these experiments to shed light on dark sector interactions.
