Abstract

The air pollution is the main environmental problem in urban Trabzon, situated in the northeast of Turkey, during winter days. As is well known, in general, wind circulation is a well transporter for air pollutants in urban areas having streets open to prevailing winds. In the present study, the relationship between air pollution and wind speeds of different directions, has been statistically analyzed, using the code SPSS. According to the results obtained through linear regression analysis, there is a weak level of relation between the air pollution concentrations and wind speeds in urban Trabzon.
