transform over time and show differences. As people's needs change, they also want to change the functions of the spaces they are in. Spaces that can adapt to changing and transforming purposes and desires can only be possible with flexible design. Flexible designed spaces can meet people's needs because they have various, rich and variable functional features. This research aims to examine the programming and design processes of studio projects that focus on the re-functioning of public spaces. Method: The programming and design process spatial analysis of studio projects prepared for the re-functioning of public spaces was carried out. The functional flexibility criteria for these projects, multi-functionality, transformability and expandability, were evaluated by a group of 40 experts. The numerical data obtained were analyzed with the correlation analysis method. Results: When the functional flexibility values of the studio projects examined within the scope of the study were examined, it was determined from the highest to the lowest as Project 3 (3.96), Project 1 (3.88), Project 4 (3.80) and Project 2 (3.76). Later, when the relationship between functional flexibility and physical features in these projects was examined, it was revealed that all features were positive and significant. When we examined the relationships, it was determined that multifunctionality (0.647), transformability (0.542) and expandability (0.418). Conclusion: It is seen that one of the most significant features of functional flexibility is that a space allows multiple activities and provides a variety of experiences. In this research, the processes from the concept determination process to the designed final product of the projects discussed were evaluated and the evaluations of the projects with functional flexibility were revealed.
